György Kósa: Chamber Music with Viola, Vol. 2

by Dirk Hegemann (viola); Lóránt Najbauer (baritone); Dániel Pataky (tenor); Tatjana Ruhland (flute); Marc Engelhardt (bassoon); Fionn Bockemühl (violoncello)

György Kósa (1897–1984) plays a pivotal role in the history of Hungarian classical music as pianist, composer and educator. He was a wonderfully versatile composer trying all sorts of genres. Kósa was keen on including the human voice in his chamber music. Not only did he illuminate the lyrics by adding music, but he also enhanced the effect his music had by adding vocal parts to supplement the instruments.
